Baltimore Sun: research shows Walmart beating Target in online shopping “satisfaction”

The Baltimore Sun reports that, according to ForeSee’s Top 100 E-Retail Satisfaction Index, Walmart offers consumers a more satisfying online shopping experience than Target. Amazon, however, continues to lead online retailers in customer satisfaction.

The Telegraph reports that Asda may add holograms to its sales staff. Asda has already tried virtual assistants in its shops to the satisfaction of its customers; Now the chain is considering expanding the program. Hologram sales assistants advise customers of sales and promotions and can also be programed make product suggestions.

ITWeb: Walmart and eBay develop new search engines

ITWeb.com reports that both Walmart and eBay have developed new search engines designed to help them better compete with Amazon. Walmart’s difficulty in translating its brick & mortar success to online sales led it’s @WalmartLabs to design a new search engine in hopes of making it easier for customers to find products for at Walmart.com.
